Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common condition affecting the digestive system. Symptoms can include abdominal pain or cramps, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation and changes in bowel habits.
Bloating and digestive discomfort can have many other causes, so persistent, severe or changing symptoms should be medically assessed rather than assumed to be IBS.
Jamie has direct clinical experience supporting people with IBS, bloating and digestive complaints. The individual Chinese medicine assessment considers symptom patterns, food, appetite, bowel habits, sleep, stress, menstrual health, medication and wider wellbeing.
Acupuncture may be considered alongside dietary advice, medication and other suitable care. It should not replace medical assessment or evidence-based IBS management.
Acupuncture research for IBS is mixed and does not establish reliable benefit for every person. Future anonymised case studies may illustrate Jamie's clinical approach, but should not be presented as proof of general effectiveness.

See a GP for persistent digestive symptoms. Seek prompt advice for unexplained weight loss, bleeding, a hard abdominal swelling, paleness with breathlessness or palpitations, severe pain, persistent vomiting or symptoms beginning later in life.
A first appointment provides time to understand your digestive symptoms and discuss whether acupuncture may be a suitable part of wider care.
